ABOUT

They say the music is good for the soul, and Amon exemplifies that. The 32 year old rapper, a San Diego native, knows he has a legacy to create. With a name from Ancient Nubia meaning "God of the air," he is certainly on his way to establishing his legacy; it doesn’t take too much time in a room with him to confirm that he is the bodily equivalent of a light from above.

Determined to be the best, Amon always has his eyes on the prize saying "Success is seeing everyone around be just as successful. Being successful alone is still unsuccessful and greedy. Take care of your people and they will take care of you."Before mastering his musical craft, Amon was on his way to becoming a professional skateboarder. His work ethic had him out every single day practicing and he even placed in competitions. Skateboarding led Amon to his passion for performing; Amon was unable to compete in a competition due to an injury, and since he could not compete skating, he performed instead.

At 17, and with a shattered heel, Amon began recording music at a friend's home studio where he experimented with recording himself. Amon set intentions of making music as a living; he knew this was what he was supposed to do and fell in love with making music. He performed frequently in San Diego and began releasing music he made. For Amon, music is a conduit through which all of his stories pour. All of the 1,000+ beats he has in his vault wait to be used for what he wants to say as a narrator, and the protagonist, in his own prose. In 2016, Amon released one song per week throughout the entire year, which gained attention bringing in press and new fans. The track "Lately" became the number 1 viral song on Spotify in Canada, number 8 in the U.S., and number 10 in the world. This led to Amon touring, opening for artists including DJ Khaled, Amine, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Jay Rock, Jacquees, and more.

This is only the beginning for Amon. Amon is embarking on a new journey with releasing new music every 2 weeks throughout the remainder of 2020 and well into 2021, beginning with the newly released singles "Miss Rosetta," "Black is Beautiful,” “Switch Tre,” and “Loes n Hies.” Amon is fulfilling his legacy saying, "This new music is a beautiful struggle filled with darkness & happiness. Life is fucking rough but you figure out how to push through. There will be problems everyday, good and bad, but the true definition of life is how you react to what's in front of you and what you take from it. That's where you strive!"
